Reflecting on 3 Seasons serving our guests
After serving guest for the last three summer seasons, we are so grateful for the wonderful guests who have stayed with us and given us such glowing reviews! It blows us away that so many of you have taken time to personally write us thank you notes and even given us a gift or two! We truly enjoy getting to know each and every visitor that walks into our B&B. And of course our repeat guests are the icing on the cake.
The Sweetwater Sea Bed and Breakfast has been welcoming guests for 3 seasons! The attraction of the sunrise side of Michigan is growing. As more people are exploring the quiet side of the Michigan coastline, we hope to attract more guests to our boutique Inn that offers a beautiful private sugar sand beach where you can tan in the warm sun and swim in the fresh clean waters of Lake Huron. Lake Huron is also a rock hunters paradise and because the Bed and Breakfast is still in the Devonian Coast region, you can find all sorts of fossils and the prized Petosky Stones! Most days you can see people strolling along the shoreline with buckets in hand and eyes down. We can not forget about the night sky! Star gazing is amazing up here as we have little to no light pollution. The Milky Way is viewable most nights and guests have commented on how clear and bright the constellations are. We have also had the chance to see the Northern Lights on many occasions right out the windows! I never thought I would be able to see such wonders before I moved here permanently.
We love when our guests say "you have thought of everything!" We try! The house itself, which was purpose build as a bed and breakfast, offers sweeping views of Lake Huron. There 2 comfortable sitting areas with an indoor fireplace, common area with refrigerator, microwave and sink, and our patio with the ultimate fire cauldron for relaxing after your day of adventuring around the area. The bedrooms have luxury bedding and what our guests claim are the most comfortable beds! En Suite private bathrooms are in each room top tyo off your perfect experience. Let’s not forget about the hot breakfast! Daily offerings are gourmet savory dishes, fresh baked sweets, homemade bread, warm from the oven, and of course our special yogurt parfaits!
Our guest seek out the Oscoda, Au Sable area because we are in the Huron National Forest. The River Road scenic byway offers unparalleled rivers views from above and below. There are many hiking trails along the Au Sable river as well as attractions that should not be missed: the Lumberman’s Monument and Iargo Springs interpretive site. If you want to get on the river, a canoe or kayak trip is a necessity. Many visitors enjoy floating down the river in rafts and tubes soaking up the sun and being lazy for an afternoon.
Bottom line is we think we have created a getaway that is the Gem of the Eastern coastline of Michigan. Come visit us
